Here at Knockout Renovation, we focus exclusively on residential renovations in New York City and Brooklyn which means that we know our way around building approvals, permits and more.
For over 26 years, we have been helping coops, condos and apartment owners make their space their own – even in small spaces. The projects we do are varied from full apartments to just bathrooms to just kitchens – we are experienced and know how to do it all.
We know how to manage your project from A to Z and that includes managing your neighbors, your coop / condo board and building requirements. We tell your neighbors what is going on and what to expect acting as a point person for any questions and making sure no issues arise with those who share your space. We also manage and make sure any permits and/or permissions are granted with the building management and/or board.
In addition, we know how to find out the details regarding deliveries, work requirements, and more because this is our field of expertise.
We know that the requirements for approval of a renovation will vary based upon a project’s complexity. Sometimes, it can just be a review of documentation but if you do not know how to create that documentation or present it, you can find this a much more difficult process than it could be for those who have all of their experience in other types of construction, might not know of this. We also might need to file permits with the NYC building department. We find this out and execute on it, as needed.
We also know how to help single family homes, as well. These, though free standing and not involved with any building management requirements but still there are NYC requirements that we are well versed in and can manage for you.
Architectural Needs and Permits
When a project calls for radical change and/or requires an architect, we will provide a qualified and licensed architect according to your particular style. The architect can offer a design consultation, feasibility assessment or full scale drawings and Building Dept. approval. We work with a select group of architects whose focus is primarily residential renovation.
